The Arizona Multihousing Association is the statewide, nonprofit trade
organization for the apartment and rental housing industry.
We serve
approximately 2,300 members with over 199,000 units who are apartment property
owners, developers, managers and member communities. Also included in our
membership are over 475 suppliers who provide products and services to
our industry.
Together, our members contribute hundreds of millions of dollars
annually to the state's economy through taxes, fees, construction and purchases
from advertising to utilities.
The apartment and rental housing industry accounts
for 42,000 jobs in the state with a total payroll of more than $2 billion
annually.
Persons supported by the industry generate retail sales of more than
$650 million annually.
Our association supports the Arizona Fair Housing Law, the
Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act and the Neighborhood Revitalization
Act. They help protect the rights of landlords and renters. The AMA serves on the
Arizona Housing Commission and sponsors fair housing educational programs in
Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff.
The association is a founding member of both the Five STAR and Project S.A.F.E programs that work closely with the Crime Free Mulithousing program to help prevent crime in apartment communities and make rental housing safer for residents.
The AMA actively represents the multihousing
industry to elected officials at the state, county and municipal levels. We
sponsor and review legislation and regulations that directly affect us and,
ultimately, our residents.
By joining the AMA, you help to keep the industry
vital. Your dues ensure a strong voice in local and state government and help
provide educational programs which serve to keep high levels of professionalism
within the rental housing industry. By joining AMA you become a positive force in
the growth and prosperity of multihousing in Arizona.
